Martial Arts Student Receives Academic Award
Martial arts and after-school program a winning combination!

Noah Osterloh, a student at the Academy of Martial Arts After-School Martial Arts Program in Manchester, received a “Certificate of Achievement” for the first time for homework completion this week! Noah has completed his homework every day, earning him this award. Noah, a Brown Belt, also trains in martial arts at the Academy of Martial Arts & Personal Development for the last 3 years as part of the Academy’s After-School Program. In that program, students are able to complete their homework without distraction, and the staff, which includes a certified teacher, is able to check their work for errors and offer tutoring, if need be.
Noah, with the dedicated help and cooperation of the Academy staff, has greatly improved in all areas of his life. Last year, Noah made Honor Roll and received an award for “Most Improved Behavior”. Grandmaster Joel Waldron, owner of The Academy of Martial Arts & Personal Development believes that "the martial arts are an invaluable tool in developing children into confident, capable members of society, and Noah is living proof of that. He has grown by leaps and bounds, and we are very proud of him, and our instructors’ efforts in helping to achieve that success.”
An increasingly popular reason for enrolling children in the martial arts is to develop "Life Skills" in the students. The skills include discipline, self control, patience, confidence, courage, tolerance, honesty, respect and integrity among others. Training in a quality martial arts school reinforces those character building qualities that are timeless and transcend all cultural boundaries.
