MCC to Host Part-Time Job Fair

Manchester Community College is scheduled to host its annual part-time job fair next month.

MANCHESTER, CT – Manchester Community College is scheduled to host its annual part-time job fair on Tuesday, Oct. 2, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the SBM Charitable Foundation Building first-floor lobby.

The event is designed for local employers who want to connect with candidates looking for part-time, flexible hours, such as MCC students. The event can help employers fill in some of the gaps in their capacities to serve their customers.

“With the number of eager students who attend the fair, this is a great way for businesses to get mass amounts of exposure and possible employees,” Julie Greene, director of Career and Veterans Services, said. “The majority of businesses we hear back from generally have positive feedback about the event.”

“It is a great opportunity for students to discover work experiences that can complement their majors as well as their class schedules,” she said. “For the approximately 200 to 300 students who attend, it is a great way for them to put themselves out there and possibly even get a foot in the door at a job they will love.”

The part-time job fair is also open to the public. Candidates are not required to register in advance, but should dress professionally and bring plenty of resumes to distribute to employers.
