'Minor Call' In Manchester Turns Into Firefighting Lesson For Kids

MANCHESTER, CT — A minor incident earlier this month in a Manchester neighborhood turned into a lesson in firefighting for some young people.

The fire was on July 12 and it was easily handled, officials said. The incident did attract a number of young people, who stood by to watch.

After quickly clearing the scene, Manchester firefighters invited the children to get a closer look at the ladder truck.

It went over well.

"A true partnership with the community," one neighbor said on social media. "Great job ... an extra 10-to-15 minutes out at a call means the world to these kids."
