MMA Fighter from Manchester Gets 30 Years for Sex Assault Verdict

He was sentenced for multiple convictions last week.

MANCHESTER, CT — A professional mixed martial arts fighter was ordered by a judge to spend at least 30 years in prison with more time in the balance for multiple counts of sexual assault.

Manuel Torres was sentenced on Sept. 22. He was initially arrested on Nov. 5, 2014 in Manchester and found guilty on June 15, according to judicial system s records.

A clerk at the court said on some charges, he was sentenced to 20 years, suspended after 15. In another set of charges, he was sentenced to 20 years, suspended after 10 and in another set, he received 5 years, the clerk said.
