MPD Honors Longtime Manchester Tailor Shop Owner For His 'Service'
Local police honored Manchester Tailor Shop owner Joe Grimaldi for turning 90 and serving the community for five decades.

MANCHESTER, CT — The Manchester Police Department Wednesday sent some major kudos to a fixture in the downtown business community for his service to the department and the citizenry.
Joe Grimaldi, who has owned the Manchester Tailor Shop on Spruce Street for more than 58 years, was brought to the MPD for a cake commemorating his 90th birthday.
He was joined by his family, along with several officers and staff members.

"We wanted to thank Joe for all he has done for our department and the town of Manchester," police said. "Joe's work at Manchester Tailor Shop continues to support our agency's professionalism in appearance."
Manchester Police Department spokesman Lt. Ryan Shea said Grimaldi is the go-to guy when officers need uniform repair work or patches on heavier jackets.

"Joe's especially good with leather jackets and cold weather gear," Shea said. "The man's been doing this for 58-plus years for the public and many years for the department and he's very, very good."
