New Engine 1 Debuts At Manchester Fire Rescue EMS
There's a new Engine 1 in town and it is ready to help put out fires in Manchester.

MANCHESTER, CT — There is a new Engine 1 in Manchester.
This week, Manchester Fire Rescue EMS' newest piece of apparatus began its service.
Engine 1 is a 2022 Marion Fire and Emergency Metro Star pumper. It is capable of carrying 700 gallons of water and can pump water at a rate of ,2,000 gallons per minute, fire officials said.

The truck also has a full complement of rescue equipment including, hydraulic rescue tools and a complete set of ALS medical equipment.
The new class A pumper replaces a 2012 Sutphen and is the 12th piece of apparatus to be designated as Engine 1 since service began in 1897.
