Pedestrian Struck By Car In Manchester: Police

A 74-year-old woman was hospitalized Friday after she was hit by a car on Pleasant Valley Road in Manchester.

MANCHESTER, CT — A 74-year-old woman was hospitalized with serious injuries after she was struck by a car while walking, authorities said.

According to Manchester police, the woman was hit by a sedan in the westbound lane of Pleasant Valley Road near Buckland Street shortly after 9 p.m.

Police said the woman suffered life-threatening injuries and was taken to Hartford Hospital, where she remains in critical condition.

The driver of the sedan — a 57-year-old East Hartford man — was not injured in the crash. He remained on scene and cooperated with investigators, police said.
