Permits Submitted For Skate Park, Artificial Turf At Charter Oak Park
The "vision" for Charter Oak Park includes a skate park and new field.

MANCHESTER, CT — Permits have been applied for as part of a proposed expansion of Charter Oak Park in Manchester that includes a new skate park and an artificial turf field.
Plans were unveiled Thursday.
The skate park will also include a pump track, according to the plans.

Planning and Zoning Commission applications have been submitted for an Erosion & Sedimentation Control Plan and an Inland Wetlands Permit, officials said.
Local regulators will now review the plans.

Expanded parking is also included.
In 2021, a master plan for the future of Manchester's parks featured a "vision" for a new skate park and artificial surface field at Charter Oak.
The park, located at the bottom of the Main Street hill and Charter Oak Street, is, according to results of public survey, one of the most used parks in town, with 56 percent of respondents saying they have used it for recreation and 97 percent saying they were either satisfied or very satisfied with the park.
