Pistol Safes Available To Manchester Residents At No Cost.
The safes were obtained by the town of Manchester in partnership with the state.

MANCHESTER, CT — The Manchester Police Department has a limited number of SentrySafe Quick Access Biometric Pistol Safes to provide to Manchester residents at no cost.
A pistol permit is not required to obtain a safe, but proof of residency in Manchester must be presented. One safe will be provided per address in an effort to distribute safes to as many households as possible. The safes will be provided on a first come, first served basis while supplies last.
The safes were obtained by the town of Manchester in partnership with the Connecticut Department of Public Health's Office of Firearm Injury Prevention as part of a comprehensive approach to addressing firearm-related injury and death throughout the state. They will be distributed to Manchester households as a means of increasing firearms safety and awareness in the community. Connecticut law requires all guns to be safely secured.
