Police Presence Closes Street In Manchester

MANCHESTER, CT — A large police presence closed a section of Elm Street Thursday evening.

The closure was near the Hall interchange and police would only say it was "due to an ongoing investigation."

An alert was sent out by police at about 6:45 p.m.

Hartford police told NBC Connecticut that a white Honda Passport involved in a city shooting fled the scene and wound up in Manchester. The Passport was confirmed to be stolen out of Meriden, authorities said.

The person shot, a woman in her 30s, was hospitalized with non-life threatening injuries, according to NBC, citing officials.

Five were in custody after a foot chase, authorities said.
