MANCHESTER, CT — The popular curbside yard waste disposal program is back in the Manchester pickup schedule.

On Monday, residents could resume setting out paper lawn bags full of of leaves, grass clippings and shrubbery trimmings for curbside collection on the day of their normal refuse/recycling collection.

There are strict rules to the program.

The bags cannot exceed 40 pounds and yard waste must be in paper lawn bags, officials said.

Bundles of rush can also be placed at the curb for pickup. They must be cut to 4 feet or less in length and tied and bundled, officials said. The bundles must not weigh more than 4o pounds and branches must be less than 3 inches thick, officials said.

Residents with a free recycling permit can drop off leaves at the Manchester Transfer Station year round during normal transfer station hours (Tuesday through Saturday from 7:15 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.).
