MANCHESTER, CT — A Buckland Hills commercial parcel cleared out more than a decade ago may finally have a tenant in the form of a chicken chain that has entered the Connecticut market with much fanfare.

A planning and zoning filing for an erosion and sedimentation control plan for 75 Buckland St. in Manchester indicates that Raising Cane's is eyeing the parcel. It's is under review by planning officials.

The land measures 1.03-acres and sits across Redstone Road from a Shell Station and down a hill from the Cinemark theater complex. It was cleared in anticipation of future development in April 2013 in a project that included blasting away at a rock wall.

The erosion plan is typically the first step in the approval process. A restaurant is a conforming use for the parcel, planning officials said.

Raising Cane's has Connecticut locations in Enfield and Simsbury. The openings created several traffic jams in the respective areas. Company statistics show that the chain boasts 807 locations in 42 states and territories.
