Before the move – when you’re taking apart all the furniture – keep the screws and bolts in a small, labeled Ziploc bag.
There is nothing more frustrating than a jumbled mess of screws and bolts for several different pieces of furniture tossed together. Keep them separated and organized in small Ziploc bags labeled with exactly what they are for.

Having the required tools packed together in the same box is also handy for quick assembly. If you can’t pack the tools in the bags, make sure the tools are the last thing to go on the moving truck – that way you have them right away when you get to the new place.
Once you’re in the new home, don’t assemble furniture before you know exactly where you want it. It can make it hard to maneuver around while you continue to unpack. Moreover, assembled furniture is harder to move and may not fit in the doorway, so save yourself the grief and plan ahead!
