Red Cross Reaching Out to Manchester Family Displaced By Fire
A Monday basement fire wound up displacing a family in Manchester.

MANCHESTER, CT — A Monday basement fire wound up displacing a family in Manchester.
The fire broke out at 6:10 p.m. at 23 North St. The bulk of the fire was extinguished in 10 minutes, and the situation was under control within 30 minutes., fire officials said.
But it was enough to displace four adult members of a local family. The American Red Cross said it provided assistance to meet the family's immediate needs.

The Red Cross is also providing comfort kits containing personal care items like toothbrushes, deodorant, shaving supplies and other items a resident might not have been able to gather in the rush to escape the fire.
