Registration Information Announced For 2019 Manchester Road Race
Registration details have been announced for the 83rd running of the Manchester Road Race.
MANCHESTER, CT — Registration for the 83rd Manchester Road Race will begin on Sept. 1, race officials announced Thursday evening.
Runners can enter the 4.748-mile Thanksgiving Day race online at the event’s website, www.manchesterroadrace.com.
The entry fee is $32 prior to Nov. 1, and goes up to $37 starting on that date. Registration closes at noon EST on Tuesday, Nov. 26. No entries will be accepted after that date.

The cost represents a slight increase.
"We have increased our entry fees slightly this year in order to meet the escalating costs of holding a road race that is competitive, inclusive, safe, and a lot of fun," said Dr. Tris Carta, president of the Manchester Road Race Committee. "We look forward to welcoming another large field of runners this year, and we are urging everyone to enter as soon as possible."

The race annually attracts more than 10,000 runners to Downtwn Manchester on Thanksgiving Day.
Walk-in registration for the race will take place from 9 a.m until noon on Nov 23 at the road race’s sports and fitness expo, which is slated this year in the Manchester High School cafeteria. Manchester High School is located at 134 East Middle Turnpike in Manchester.
Edward Cheserek of Flagstaff, AZ, braves bitter cold temperatures to win the 2018 Manchester Road Race with a course record time of 21:15.75.
Celliphine Chespol of Lansing, Michigan captured the women’s championship in 24:33.
This year’s road race will take place at 10 a.m. on Thanksgiving Day (Nov. 28). The race starts and finishes on Main Street, in front of St. James Church.
