Returning Manchester Students Greeted by New Wing at East Catholic High School

The wing is designed to offer students "a 21st century environment," school officials said.

MANCHESTER, CT — East Catholic High School unveiled a new math, science and technology wing as students came back for classes.

The new wing offers "multi-purpose areas" for science and math that will provide, "cohesive implementation of cutting-edge classes" like forensics and engineering that "will be taught in a 21st century environment," school officials said.

The former science area at the school has been transformed into a new fine arts center, which will accommodate East Catholic’s seven instrumental groups, seven choral groups, and active theater program, school officials said.

Other significant renovations to the campus include the installation of new windows, classroom furnishings new doors, "interactive projective devices,," new flooring and landscaping, school officials said.

“This is a momentous occasion in the history of East Catholic High School, and one that we hope to share with all of our neighbors,” Principal Jay Hartling said. “East Catholic High School takes pride in preparing young men and women to lead and serve in the church, the community, and the world. We are confident that the enhanced facility will support them in their academic endeavors.”
