Sex Advance Leads to Knife Incident on Manchester Trail: Report

One man made a sexual advance to another man in a Manchester trail, according to a report.

MANCHESTER, CT — An East Hartford man was arrested last week for allegedly going at another man with a knife on a public recreation trail after his sexual advance was shunned, according to police.

Charges against 69-year-old Gene Metcalfe include public indecency, threatening and attempted assault, according to police records.

The incident took place Thursday evening, records show.

Police told the Hartford Clourant that officers were called to the Laurel Marsh trail network on West Middle Turnpike at about 7:30 p.m.

Police told the Courant that a man reported he had been running on the trail when another man, later identified as Metcalfe, followed him, made a sexual advance toward him and then tried to stab him after an ensuing altercation.
