The Silk City Chorus Performs on August 1

The Chorus will appear at the Manchester Bandshell

On Monday, August 1, at 7 PM the Silk City Chorus will once again perform a concert of familiar songs, both old and new, as a part of the Manchester Band Shell Concert Series. We will share the stage with the Sound of New England Chorus, a ladies’ Barbershop style chorus from West Hartford. Please join us for a fun evening of a cappella harmony. The Band Shell Concert Series is in its 39th year, and it is always free. The performance will take place inside in the event of wet weather.

The Silk City Chorus is a 62 member chapter of the Barbershop Harmony Society, an international organization dedicated to singing four part harmony in the barbershop style. The chorus has been located in Manchester since 1963 and ranks as one of the premier choruses in southern New England. Under the capable direction of Todd Lamson, it has been named Yankee Division Chorus Champion for 9 of the last 10 years. For 2016 the chorus placed 5th in the Northeastern District (New England, eastern New York and the Canadian maritime provinces). For further information, please visit www.silkcitychorus.org.
