MANCHESTER, CT — Heavy rains over the past week have led to the formation of a sinkhole in front of Manchester Memorial Hospital.

Police called the situation "minor," but the sinkhole is affecting how folks enter the campus. The sinkhole formed on Guard Street and an Eastern Connecticut Health Network facility and patients and visitors are being advised to to enter the hospital through the entrance at 71 Haynes St.

A police officer was at the scene Sunday but on Monday, it was being monitored by staff members.
