Special Officer Joins Manchester Police Force Thursday

MANCHESTER, CT — Manchester police added a special new officer to the force on Thursday.

It was Emerson Oliveri, who became the Manchester Police Department’s newest honorary officer in a special ceremony. Emerson is the daughter of a law enforcement officer from New York, who has been battling health complications since she was born, police said.

Emerson has already undergone several surgeries and recenly found out from her doctors that she will need to undergo more major operations, police said. She was visiting Manchester and officers heard she wants to one day follow in her father’s footsteps.

So she received her own local uniform and spent the day on the job in Manchester.
