Special Weather Statement Issued For Hartford, Tolland Counties
BREAKING: Severe weather is moving through the area now, the weather service says.

A Special Weather Statement is in effect for Hartford, Tolland and Winham counties this afternoon for "torrential rainfall."
At 413 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking a line of strong thunderstorms over Torrington, moving east at 45 mph, estimating rainfall rates of half an inch to three quarters of an inch an hour.
With torrential rainfall, anticipate reduced visibility along roadways for the afternoon commute, as well as the potential for urban, poor drainage flooding.
