Celtic Vespers at St. Mary's

St. Mary’s Church
TODAY, 7PM
41 Park Street, Manchester

Join us for Celtic Vespers, a non-denominational candlelight service featuring prayers and music of Ireland, Scotland, England, and Wales. Christianity flourished throughout the British Isles for many centuries emphasizing a sense of God’s nearness and the love of creation (nature) as God’s gift. This vesper service, steeped in tradition, invites one to enter into a place of quiet, prayer and reflection and offers an opportunity to light a candle in remembrance.

The service will feature music by Wild Notes (Kasha Breau – harp, John Kalinowski - concertina & accordion and Mickey Koth - fiddle, flute, recorder & whistle). The ensemble will be joined by Alex Nakhimovsky - director of music ministries at St. Mary’s and St. Mary’s choir.

St. Mary's Episcopal is built on land donated by the Cheney family, owners of the historic Manchester silk mills. The chancel of the “old” St. Mary's (completed in 1883) contains Tiffany windows and unique American chestnut wall panels. The "new" St. Mary's (built in 1955) has a stone from Iona, Scotland embedded in the Nativity Chapel altar.

We invite you and your family & friends to join us as we seek a sense of wholeness and peace in these turbulent times.
There will be a reception with light refreshments immediately following the service.
