Stop & Shop Hopes To Fill 700 Jobs In Connecticut This Weekend
Stop & Shop is planning a major one-day hiring event in Connecticut this weekend.

CONNECTICUT — The Stop & Shop supermarket chain has planned a major hiring event in all its Connecticut stores this weekend. Stores in the immediate area include Vernon, Manchester, Enfield, Windsor, South Windsor, Hartford, Willimantic and Glastonbury.
Stop & Shop stores are hosting a one-day, all-store career fair on Saturday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Applicants interested in applying can visit any of the supermarket's Connecticut stores for an on-the-spot interview, officials said.
Interviews will be on tap to fill the nearly 700 part-time roles and select full-time roles across Connecticut in eCommerce, bakery, deli, grocery, seafood, and produce departments, officials said. There are also openings on overnight crews, as well as for cashiers, porters, baggers, home shoppers, pharmacy and asset protection, officials said.

"At Stop & Shop, we pride ourselves on being an inclusive workplace. We believe that the voices of our associates should reflect a diverse set of ideas, experiences, and backgrounds. Many members of Stop & Shop’s leadership team started as store associates. The roles we offer at Stop & Shop are more than jobs, they are growth opportunities.” Stop & Shop Human Resources Director Julie Pinard said. "We hope that anyone who is interested in starting a career in an exciting work environment, focused on helping their community, will join us on Saturday, February 25."
Stop & Shop officials said the jobs feature "competitive pay," paid training, flexible schedules, a company discount on groceries and paid time off. Opportunities for career growth include management, field support or positions in the corporate support office. Cashiers, baggers, produce, bakery, floral and grocery clerks must be at least 16 years old. All other positions require applicants to be 18 years of age or older.
