Superintendent to Fill in at Illing

MANCHESTER, CT — Superintendent of Schools Matthew Geary will be filling in as the interim principal of Illing Middle School, he told parents in a letter.

Illing Principal Beth Hayes is set to becomes the school system’s coordinator of school and business partnerships on July 1. Hayes will be working to develop opportunities for internships, job shadows, and other work-related experiences to support college and career readiness, Geary said.

“During her tenure at Illing, Ms. Hayes has worked tirelessly to provide students opportunities to become more independent and engaged in their own learning by creating several relevant and meaningful learning opportunities,” Geary said.
