Task Force Intercepts 100-Plus Heroin Bags in Manchester

A man already convicted several times was caught selling drugs again, police said.

MANCHESTER, CT — A man with a long history of drug activity was arrested again on Wednesday, this time with 160 bags of Heroin, police said.

On Wednesday, members of the East Central Narcotics Task Force executed a search warrant on a vehicle involved in drug sales in Manchester, according to a report.

The vehicle belongs to Corey Menefee, who has been arrested by the task force multiple times, according to a report. Since 2010, Menefee has had nine convictions and once sentence modification for drug and behavioral crimes, according to judicial system records.

During Wednesday's investigation, task force members observed drug sales taking place directly from Menefee’s 2013 Infinity G37, according to a report. When officers approached Menefee’s vehicle, he had a large plastic bag containing smaller bags of heroin, according to a report. He was holding crack cocaine in his hand and and crack cocaine was on his lap, a report indicates.

an undisclosed amount of cash, according to a report. Police said Menefee’s vehicle was also confiscated.

Menefee, 25, was charged with:

  • Possession of narcotics
  • Sale of narcotics
  • Operating a drug factory
  • Possession of drug paraphernalia
  • Possession with the intent to sell within 1,500 feet of a school.

Menefee was held on $200,000 bond.

Menefee’s passenger, Latravis Moore, 33, was charged with:

  • Conspiracy to sell narcotics
  • Narcotics possession

He was held on a $150,000.00 bond.

The East Central Narcotics Task Force, includes officers from the Manchester, South Windsor, Vernon and Glastonbury departments.
