Teacher Accused Of Assaulting Child At Manchester Preschool
A Manchester preschool teacher is accused of assaulting a child, police said.

MANCHESTER, CT — A teacher at a Manchester preschool is accused of assaulting a 5-year-old student, police said.
Angela Casey, 48, surrendered on a warrant Thursday, police said. She was charged with risk of injury to a child and third-degree assault, according to a report.
The case dates back to Dec. 5 when the mother of a child at the Manchester Preschool Center reported that her child was assaulted by a teacher the previous day. The school is located at at 60 Washington St.

The child's mother said a school administrator called her about an incident involving the child and Casey. A report indicates Casey is accused of pushing the child, which resulted in the child being hurt. Case records indicate the child may have hit his head on a chair.
The child's mother told police that Casey was removed from the classroom and the situation was reported to the state Department of Children and Families, according to case records.
