The 6.7% unemployment rate is what we are told the number is. Can you imagine what the true number would be, if they included those who are no longer being included in these numbers? Those that have stopped looking for jobs, those who no longer qualify for unemployment benefits or are under employed.
There are many clients that contact me for a preapproval, that are no longer allowed to work a 40 hour week and have been cut back to under 30 hours to avoid the employer being required to pay for health insurance. As a result, they must buy health insurance on their own. These folks are having a tough time getting by.

So, when we read or hear that unemployment is steady at 6.7%, this is certainly not good information. They are spinning the numbers, but very misleading.
