Vernon Police: Bicyclist Hit By a Car Thursday is From Manchester

VERNON, CT — Police have identified the bicyclist hit by a car near Town Hall in Vernon Thursday morning as a 27-year-old woman from Manchester.

Police said the crash took place at 8:31 a.m. at the intersection of Park Street and Park Place. It is also near Rockville Superior Court.

The bicyclist sustained serious leg injuries and was transported by Vernon EMS to St. Francis Hospital and Medical Center in Hartford, police said. The bicyclist was identified as Heather Gabbey, 27, of Manchester, police said.

Police said the operator of the vehicle that struck the bicyclist is David Kuslansky, 75, of Vernon. Kuslansky was not injured, police said.

The accident is still being investigated, police said.
