Walmart Bumped From Manchester Top 10 Taxpayer List

Eversource remained the top taxpayer in Manchester but there was a change in the Top 10.

MANCHESTER, CT — The Top 10 taxpayer list in Manchester remained the same for the October 2021 Grand List with one exception. Walmart drooped out in favor of Taragon LLC and its apartment holdings.

Taragon is based at 91 Elm St., a former mill development.

Walmart came in at No. 10 last year, but recently sold the former Sam’s Club location on Pavilions Drive.

Eversource's holdings in town kept the utility atop the rankings. Its tax listing keeps the old Connecticut Light and Power monicker.

Manchester’s total net Grand List of October 1, 2021 is $4,871,667,760.That number represents an increase of 17.99 percent, or $742,635,400, from the 2020 grand list.
