MANCHESTER, CT — A water main broke in the north end of Manchester late Wednesday morning, two officials said.

The break occurred at about 11 a.m. near Loomis Street and Margaret Road. Officials said a broken valve was the cause.

Loomis, Margaret and Bilyeu Street were shut down for repairs and the work was expected to take between six and eight hours, officials said.
