WEATHER UPDATE: Heavy Snow, Ice Hitting Manchester Today

The National Weather Service’s Winter Storm Warning remains in effect until 1 a.m. Tuesday and there is still a snow chance until 10 p.m.

In a storm that already dumped several inches of snow on the area overnight, now we are firmly in the midst of a major ice storm that will continue throughout most of the day.

The heavy snow is mixing with sleet and will continue throughout the day accumulating an additional 5-9 inches and a total storm accumulation of 6-12 inches.

The National Weather Service says it will be snow and sleet until 3 p.m. and then all snow, heavy at times after 3 p.m. It could snow until about 10 p.m. before the storm tapers off.
