“What is Worse than one Realtor’s Stupidity?”

I can’t tell you that I have never done something stupid and you probably can say the same thing, but to have two real estate agents almost come to blows, at a closing. That is really stupid.

The buyer of the property, my client called me from the closing and I am listening to these two idiots screaming at each other, that was just too much. Buyers, sellers and two attorneys ready to postpone the completion of a transaction. This was certainly a new one for me.

I had my client hand the phone to the selling agent, I couldn’t get a word in edgewise. It was time for drastic measures. I told him if I heard one more word out of his mouth I was going to personally go down there and beat the daylights out of him.

Any idea what two men would be arguing about? I’ll give you a hint, her name is……………I can’t believe I actually spent some time on the phone with each of them so that they could tell me “too much information” about a personal matter that had nothing to do with the purchase transaction. I finally convinced them to leave so that the closing could get accomplished.

I don’t really know either of these guys, but no matter what, the situation was just plain stupidity. I do have a better idea why the negotiations took so long on a full price offer. I would be surprised if buyer, seller or attorneys don’t file a complaint with the local board.

I guess it goes to show, anytime I think I have seen it all, there is a lot more to see and hear.
