Women and Hair Loss (An ever growing concern)

More and more I encounter female clients with thinning hair issues, especially in middle age clients. Since this is a growing concern; I thought I would share an interesting article I came across. In this article are some interesting points and maybe even a temporary fix. If this issue hits close to home, please read and see what you think:

Over 30 million women suffer from some type of hair loss caused by factors such as stress, hormones, genetics or medication. "Most women suffer in silence, not knowing that they are a sisterhood of over thirty million women in the U.S." says Rhonda McCarthy, Gemtress executive. "We want to help women understand what is happening, what are their options, who can they trust and where can they go for help."

That's why the company launched www.Gemtress.com, a solutions driven site to help women in their fight against hair loss. The website can be easily and discretely accessed by mobile phones and iPads, connecting women directly with professional hair loss experts in their home area. In addition, users can access blogs, news and information on hair loss as well as new products and educational resources.

"You can look in the mirror again and feel beautiful" says Kayla Martell, 2010 Miss Delaware and 2011 Miss America finalist, who lost her hair from alopecia when she was just 11 years old. Kayla, now a Gemtress spokesmodel, travels throughout the U.S. attending free women's hair loss seminars at local hair loss studios. The seminar schedule is posted on www.Gemtress.com.
