“Working with a Part-Time Agent”
Good morning, Joe.
I
was wondering if you had any real estate agents that you could refer.
Once you gave me a number of questions to ask, it was obvious I was
heading in the wrong direction, so I have decided to not go down the
route of having my friend help me.
I have spoken to the home inspector; he will be a great fit for me.
Thank you for your help.
I
am always careful not to dissuade a client from working with a
particular real estate agent, even if the information that is supplied
lets me know it might not be a good fit. It was obvious this could be a
problem for this first time home buyer.
His
friend had gotten his license a few months ago, working part time and
had not sold a home as of yet. I certainly can understand wanting to
help out a friend but when someone is buying their first home, the agent
can’t be learning at the expense of a first time home buyer.
I
gave him a number of questions to ask his friend and if he got truthful
answers, he would make the decision to work with someone who is truly
experienced. He got that kind of referral from me.
