World Champions Return To Silk City Chorus Annual Show
FOREFRONT Quartet Enjoys Their Championship Year
The renowned Silk City Barbershop Chorus of Manchester launches its 54th year with its annual show on Saturday, January 14th at the Manchester High School Auditorium. Show times are 1:30 PM and 7:30 PM.
The annual show will again feature two world class a cappella groups. Headlining the roster of guest performers will be FOREFRONT, a quartet from Ohio. Formed by veteran entertainers in 2009, after several tries they captured the International Barbershop Championship in July of 2016. This is their second appearance on the Silk City Chorus annual show, and this year they return as champions.
Traveling from Florida will be SIGNATURE, a quartet formed in 2013. They finished in 15th place at their first World Championship in 2015, then surprised the Barbershop world with a 4th place Bronze Medal finish in 2016. They will demonstrate that quartets on the “way up” are always highly entertaining.

Also appearing in the show will be the RENSSELYRICS, a popular a cappella group from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in Troy, NY, who perform their own arrangements of contemporary music.
The Chorus will again present an original show. The title for this year is “Send In The Clown”, a parody on the world of the Circus. The 40 performing members of the Silk City Chorus will be auditioning their questionable circus routines while performing entertaining songs about their dreams of a life in the circus.

Following the show, on Monday January 16, the chorus will host a guest night for all men who enjoy singing. This will take place at 7.00 PM at our rehearsal hall located at the Second Congregational Church, 385 North Main St., Manchester, CT 06512.
The best seating for both shows is reserved for your convenience and comfort. Reserved seating prices are Primary (front 4 rows): $28.00 and Secondary: $23.00. The remaining seating is General Admission at $20.00. Both Family and Group pricing are available. Manchester HS is located at 134 Middle Turnpike East, Manchester, CT 06040. Doors open one hour before show opening. Parking is free. The facility is handicap accessible.
