$1 Million To Benefit Four Corners-To-UConn Path In Mansfield

WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Rep. Rep. Joe Courtney Wednesday said he voted to pass the bipartisan Consolidated Appropriations Act, 2024, a package of six domestic funding bills. The legislation includes $11,854,781 in Community Project Funding Rep. Courtney requested to support 15 local projects across eastern Connecticut and a Mansfield initiative is one of them.

“Today, I joined a bipartisan coalition to pass the first government funding package that sets spending levels for fiscal year 2024 and ends the cycle of continuing resolutions for many of our federal agencies for the rest of the fiscal year.," Courtney said. "This gives these agencies the stability and funding they need to carry out their important work to lower the cost of living, create and sustain good-paying jobs, and help people in need.

"For eastern Connecticut, the legislation will deliver over $11 million in Community Project Funding I requested to support initiatives across our region. From housing development to public safety, this major investment will help meet the needs of our communities from the shoreline to the quiet corner."

A total of $1 million has been designated for a Mansfield project to construct a bicycle and pedestrian path from the Four Corners area to the University of Connecticut campus.
