Alert Public Safety Officer Rescues Deer At Windham Hospital

WILLIMANTIC, CT — A young deer was rescued at Windham Hospital late last week.

Hospital officials said Windham public safety officer Chris Alexander noticed the baby deer taking shelter underneath a visitor's parked car.

After contacting the state Department of Energy and Environmental Protection for guidance, Alexander carefully and safely reunited the deer with its mother in some nearby woods, hospital officials said.
