MANSFIELD, CT — A driver who left herself in a precarious position in the East Brook Mall parking lot is now facing a drunken riving charge, state police said.
State police recently released a report on the May 26 incident. At 7:21 p.m. that day, state troopers were alerted to a woman passed out in a vehicle while parked at the mall, according to an arrest report. the vehicle was running and her foot was resting against the accelerator, according to an arrest report.
As they made contact with the driver, identified as a 49-year-old Mansfield resident, "it became evident" that she was intoxicated, according to an arrest report. She subsequently failed field sobriety tests and was arrested, according to an arrest report.
She was charged with driving under the influence, records show.
