MANSFIELD, CT — An 83-year-old woman is facing a half-dozen criminal charges after a machete incident in Mansfield, state police said.
According to an arrest report, at 11:14 p.m. on Aug. 9, state troopers were dispatched to an address on Middle Turnpike after receiving a report about an elderly woman brandishing a machete.
When troopers arrived, the woman was being unruly, according to an arrest report.
The woman, identified as Karla Kelly, was arrested and charged with carrying a dangerous weapon, third-degree criminal mischief, disorderly conduct, criminal attempt at second-degree assault, third-degree assault and second-degree threatening, according to an arrest report.
She is due for arraignment on Aug. 24 on a $100,000 bond, according to a police report.
