MANSFIELD, CT — A suspected drunken driver picked a curious place to park Sunday in Mansfield, state police said.
It was at a liquor store.
The incident took place at 12:29 a.m.
According to a crash report, state troopers encountered a 2024 Toyota Rav4 parked at Discount Liquor on the 800 block of Stafford Road. A 25-year-old man from Mansfield, MA, was in the driver's seat.
As police went to investigate, the driver accelerated over a curb and hit two business mailboxes, according to a crash report.
The driver was showing signs of inebriation and subsequently failed field sobriety tests, according to a crash report. He was charged with driving under the influence and unsafe movement from a parked or stopped vehicle, according to a crash report.
