MANSFIELD, CT — A barndominium that hasn't been built yet and a 1730s saltbox that was taken apart and put back together lead the most expensive homes for sale in Mansfield, according to listings on Zillow.com.

No. 1 on the list is Lot 35 Wyllys Farm Road in Storrs, where a proposed barndominium is listed at $999,900 on 12.64 acres. The planned 2,782-square-foot home has four bedrooms and three full bathrooms, ceilings about 20 feet high in the main living area, a first-floor primary suite and indoor parking for up to six vehicles. It has been on Zillow for 397 days.

Just behind it is the "Ash House" at 25 Old Turnpike Road, asking $599,900 after a $35,100 price cut on Sept. 10. According to the listing, the saltbox colonial was built around 1732, then carefully dismantled, preserved and rebuilt on its 2.5-acre site along one of Mansfield's designated scenic roads, with the work finished in 2013. The 2,560-square-foot house has three bedrooms and four full bathrooms, original wide pine floorboards, exposed beams, a Hearthstone woodstove, a clawfoot tub, stone walls and an enclosed garden. It has been on Zillow for 82 days.

Rounding out the top three is a new raised ranch at 20 Oak Drive in Mansfield Center, listed at $549,900. The 2,336-square-foot house on 0.3 acres has three bedrooms, two full bathrooms and one half bathroom, central air and an oversized two-car garage, and the listing promises November occupancy. It has been on Zillow for 39 days.

No. 4 is a gambrel Cape at 693 Middle Turnpike, built in 1938 and listed at $499,900. The 3,248-square-foot house sits on 2 acres minutes from UConn. Zillow lists five bedrooms and three full bathrooms, although the description calls it a four-bedroom home. It has a new roof installed in 2025, refinished red oak floors and a first-floor bedroom used as an office and library. It has been on Zillow for 20 days.

Closing out the top five is 872 Mansfield City Road, a 2004 house on 2.26 acres near UConn, at $474,900. The 1,812-square-foot home has four bedrooms and two full bathrooms, including first-floor bedrooms and laundry, plus an oversized garage with an unfinished bonus room and a walk-out basement. It has been on Zillow for 18 days.

Prices, listing status and days on market are from each property's Zillow.com listing as of Oct. 26, 2026, and may change. Only homes marked "For sale" or offered as new construction were included; pending, coming-soon, land-only and multifamily listings were left out. A $749,000 Storrs Road building now used as a dental office with an apartment upstairs was left out as a mixed-use property.
