STORRS/EAST HARTFORD, CT — Finex Credit Union has signed University of Connecticut basketball player Braylon Mullins to an endorsement deal that will feature the guard in advertising and promotional appearances throughout the basketball season.

The partnership is intended to introduce Finex and its banking technology to new audiences while highlighting the benefits of credit union membership.

"Finex has a great story to tell and strives to come up big for its members each and every day, but sometimes you need someone special to help spread the word," said Joe Bartolotta, president and CEO of Finex. "We decided that no one better symbolizes that commitment to delivering in the clutch than Braylon."

Mullins gained national attention during last year's NCAA tournament when he hit a 3-pointer with 0.3 seconds remaining to complete UConn's comeback against Duke and send the Huskies to the Final Four.

Under the agreement, Mullins will help promote the benefits of belonging to a member-owned financial institution, including personalized service and technology designed to help members manage their finances and plan for the future.

"I'm excited to partner with Finex and connect with the people who make Connecticut such a special place to play basketball," Mullins said. "Having support matters, whether you're working toward a goal on the court or in your everyday life. I look forward to helping more people learn about Finex and what it offers its members."

Finex, which traces its roots to East Hartford in 1938, said the partnership reflects its commitment to supporting students, families and community organizations.

"Membership means being part of something," Bartolotta said. "We want people to know they have a financial partner who listens, understands their goals and helps them take the next step."
