Dog Lane Café set to open this evening in Storrs Center

When it opens this evening in Storrs Center, Dog Lane Café will become the newest member of a trio of restaurants owned by brothers Barry and Brian Jessurun – joining The Vanilla Bean Café located in Pomfret and 85 Main Street in Putnam.  Dog Lane Café will feature a menu with grilled items, salads, sandwiches, and daily specials, with an emphasis on seasonal, freshly-prepared food, and will also offer a self-service coffee bar.  It will be open daily serving breakfast, lunch, and dinner.  The restaurant’s design will accommodate year-round business with comfortable indoor seating and plenty of outdoor patio seating in the warmer months.

Barry Jessurun states, “We were aware of the Storrs Center project for a long time and thought it had great potential for a restaurant like this. The demographic mix of residents, students, faculty, and visitors seems just right to us.  Storrs Center will be an excellent home to Dog Lane Café, and we are hopeful for a warm welcome from old and new friends here.”

“We are extremely pleased that Dog Lane Café will open its doors today and feel it will become a prominent destination in Storrs Center,” said Howard Kaufman, Managing Member of LeylandAlliance LLC, the parent company of developer Storrs Center Alliance.  “The Vanilla Bean Café is a beloved, award winning country café – along with 85 Main, and the Jessurun restaurants are winners of numerous awards.  We fully expect Dog Lane Café to follow in the esteemed footprint (or dog tracks?) of the Vanilla Bean and 85 Main.  We congratulate Barry and Brian Jessurun. We think Dog Lane Café is sure to become a great tradition in Mansfield for years to come!”
