Auriemma Critical of State Government in Realtor Speech
The UConn coaching legend lashed out at state government at a rally.
HARTFORD, CT — University of Connecticut women's basketball coach Geno Auriemma on Tuesday seemed to be marking some political turn in a speech to real estate agents at Bushnell Park.
Auriemma was a speaker at a Connecticut Association of Realtors rally designed to lobby lawmakers to work out budget differences and make Connecticut into a state that attracts business and families.
And he used the facilities at UConn and in Hartford as a metaphor for the state's infrastructure, according to a Hartford Courant story.

Auriemma cited peeling ceiling tiles that, he said, could bring UConn back to the old outdated field house, according to the story. He called the XL Center in Hartford "the worst" arena in major college hoop, according to the story.
He also encouraged the realtors to draw folks to the state and like UConn, "win anyway," according to the story.
