Auriemma 'Feeling Well' After Sitting Out Wednesday's UConn Game

STORRS, CTY — University of Connecticut officials Thursday said that head women's basketball coach Geno Auriemma is expected back on the sidelines Friday when the Huskies host Butler.

Auriemma wasn't feeling well prior to UConn's game at Creighton Wednesday night and "chose not to coach out of an abundance of caution."

School officials said the illness "was not COVID related."

Auriemma was "feeling well" and was coaching at practice Thursday afternoon.

UConn, ranked 10th at 15-4, defeated Butler (15-7) 76-56 Wednesday.
