Auriemma, Springer Get Together During Series MVP's UConn Visit
A basketball hall of famer and a World Series MVP posed for a picture on Tuesday at UConn.

STORRS, CT — How often does a basketball hall of famer get to pose with a World Series MVP? Well, it happened in Storrs on Tuesday when Houston Astros star George Springer stopped by his alma mater — the University of Connecticut.
The UConn women's basketball team posted a picture of Springer, head coach Geno Auriemma, Springer's fiancee, Charlise, and her brother, Andre.
Springer, A UConn product, was named MVP of the 2017 World Series. He Game 7 with a double and gave the Astros a 5-0 second-inning lead with a two-run home run.

Springer finished the Series with eight extra-base hits (three doubles and five home runs) and amassed 29 total bases.
Springer, an Avon Old Farms product out of New Britain, became the highest drafted UConn baseball player when the Astros selected him as the 11th overall pick in the first round of the 2011 MLB Draft. He holds UConn career records in runs scored with 220 and home runs with 46. He ranks second all-time in total bases (452), stolen bases (76), runs batted in (196) and hits (242).

He ranks third in doubles (53), triples (10) and walks (128) and is tied for the single season record in games played with 66.
