Benton Museum Trip to Feature a Look at George Washington's Portrait Painter
The trip is on tap for next month.

STORRS, CT - Want that "George Washington posed here" experience?
Well, the William Benton Museum of Art at the University of Connecticut is hosting a day trip to the Rhode Island School of Design Museum in Providence and the Gilbert Stuart Birthplace and Museum on Tuesday, August 16.
The trip includes a one-hour docent tour of the highlights of the RISD Museum collection and a personalized tour of the picturesque buildings, ponds, and gardens of the 1755 home of artist Gilbert Stuart, best known for his portraits of George Washington.

The trip is scheduled to leave Storrs at 9 a.m. and return at 6 p.m. The ticket price is $65 per person for Benton members and $75 for non-members. Tickets are for round-trip motor coach transportation, admission to both museums, and docent tours of both museums.
