Big Changes in the Christmas Weekend Weather Forecast for Mansfield

Sometime change is good, especially when you've been dealing with bitterly cold temps and wind chills.

We’ve dealt with sub-zero wind chill readings, several inches of snow and just bitterly cold temps recently. And for Christmas, Santa Claus will deliver us all some milder temps and better weather for the upcoming holiday weekend.

Don’t get too excited, last Christmas Connecticut residents saw temps in the low to mid 60s and this year we’re only expected to see high temps into the low to mid 40s, but we’ll take it after several days of staying below the freezing mark.

For the tens of thousands of Connecticut residents who are expected to travel this weekend, the weather forecast looks ok. We could see some snow and rain on Christmas Eve but it doesn’t look like anything that will cause any major concerns.

In a blog post, NBC Connecticut Ryan Hanrahan writes that most of Connecticut won’t see a white Christmas but he said one computer model does say there may be a possibility for some light snow in Litchfield County, but it’s unlikely to spread across all of the state.
