MANSFIELD, CT — A search of a residence in Mansfield uncovered materials to manufacture homemade bombs, state police said.

As of Monday morning, 30-year-old Aleksi Javanainen has been charged with disorderly conduct, first-degree threatening and first-degree reckless endangerment in connection with an incident at his Hanks Hill Road residence, according to a warrant. His initial $100,000 bond was knocked down at an arraignment to a promise to appear in court on Oct. 28.

Not so fast, state police said.

A subsequent search of the home located a dozen items commonly used to manufacture homemade bombs, including a drain cleaner called "liquid fire" that, when mixed with the proper ingredients, produces and explosive, according to a warrant.

Police in a warrant said that, after the search, they have "probable cause" to charged Javanainen with illegal possession of explosives and the manufacture of bombs.
