Car Damages Utility Pole in Mansfield
A weekend crash left as pole damaged in Mansfield.

MANSFIELD, CT β A car being driven by a Long Island woman took out a utility pole in a weekend accident in Mansfield, state police said.
The crash took place at 7:35 a.m. Saturday on South Eagleville Road, just east of Route 32, according to a state police crash report.
State police said a 2010 Nissan Altima hading south and being driven by a 34-year-old Hempstead, NY, woman, suddenly veered onto the shoulder and hit the pole, which is owned by Fontier Communications.

The pole was damaged at its base and wound up leaning over toward the road, according to a crash report.
The driver was not injured, nor was one of her two passengers, a 15-year-old boy from Hempstead. Another 15-year-old boy from Hempstead who was a passenger, was taken to Windham Hospital with minor injuries, state police said.

The driver was cited for failing to maintain the proper lane.
